I had exactly the same thought. CRAZY sound - Had no idea they sounded so alike (not that I was watching Idol at all - it's just not something that I would do).

The first song was so very scary and in some respect the structure of her face was not to dissimilar to his.

I wasn't watching at that point, but heard the voice and had a look at the tele cause I thought they were playing a MIchael Jackson vid or something! She even moves how he used to, the arm movements and hand gestures....... tis a bit freaky!

ok i only watched idol coz the missus had it up way loud, infront of my bed.
alice cooper did sound fuckin terrible, like hes been dead already for 120 yrs, crystal wayyyyyy shud have won it, but will prolly have a better career for NOT winning, and janet/micheal got a good 10 minute plug only because wacko jacko died, and although i hate the legitamised child sex offender (alledged), his vioce was a lot stronger than hers, you could tell she was struggling to purposefully sound like the "king of tots".
