Weather is not too bad today.
Overcase but not raining. Roads are damp but should dry out if it doesn't rain again.

Bugger, now it clears at the last minute. A few of us were looking forward to getting there but called it off last night and slept in. Too late now to get there. Atleast its fine here so off to the Wairarapa for the day. A long awaited fine day.Originally Posted by Slingshot

Ended up staying fine the whole day.
Three groups ran: Difters (who should have had their meeting yesterday), Non Drifter boy racers. And Bikes.
All the bikes there were Kiwibikers except for two guys on formula 3 racebikes (Vic club members).
Quite a bit of crap on the track caused by the drifters going agricultural. No bikers had any bins.
My first time on the track. First session I was lapped by everyone at least once but improved as the day went on.
Last session there was only me and the two Vic club guys out everyone else had made tracks for home. Well worth the $40
Anyone intersted in doing the testday on Friday. Its $80 but you get alot more tracktime I was told.
Mint day. GSXR's ruled the day. Hayden and Loose bruce were the guns out there followed by Me Deano & Vicky. Sparky Bills tootled around too sparking up his sliders. Weather was good all day. The car club ran a good day in my view. Managed to have plenty of separation between the drifters and the bikes meaning that there wasn't too much crap on the track. Cool as beans day. Good to catch up with all that turned up.
Tazman where were ya.
I was gutted we decided to bring the car up to Palmy yesterday, I would have loved to have been out there.
Anyway, I got some footage of the first session so I'll get it sorted and put it up here, I tried to get everyone as they were coming off the sweeper onto the front straight.
I'm glad to hear nobody binned and if I wasn't in Auckland on Friday I would have been at the test day for sure.

a good day all round i thought.
and i got my first Knee down. woooot![]()

Rode down to taupo last night in some shitte rain, so stayed the night with my cousins and made the last jaunt in the morning which wasn't to bad, weather was looking good, track was still damp on arriavl but by the time we got out it had pretty much dryed up.
First session was good, having really only had the bike for a few days and not being able to "get to know her" cause of the crap weather the first sess was mainly learning curve, Mark told me i got into 1.20's first out so was pretty happy knowing more was too come later as i got more comfy on it.
Tell you one thing holding a K3 pinned is the shiz alright, outta the sweeper on cue and had 250kph indicated down the front straight, she aint no TL thats for sure.
Second session was real cool, had me and Hayden formation flying up front on the K3's, learned a little more but dont think i went much quicker, was a bit of a bummer having road tyres still, decided to run powers for the trip down instead of racetecs just in case the track was wet, and plus the trip down wasn't racetec weather, but the powers gave up after 6 or so hard laps and started sliding, there wasn't a lot of grip out there to begin with and quite a few of my lines in corners were stuffed up by the drifters, turn one was had no grip all day so you basiclly coasted through it, the right in the esses had a nice patch of mud that you'd hit at full lean, so you had to run wide, and in the last sess higgins had a nice line of kitty litter all over the apex and covering about a metre and a half from that, which meant running wide and straight into a pothole, even wider then, so i gave up trying to go fast and started dicking around pulling wheelies, and a litre bike pulls fucken wheelies alright, well a GSXR does, dont know about the other crap on the market.................
But yes GSXR's ruled the track on the day, was good to catch up with the likes of Jimbo600, Hayden, Slipstream, Flame (good to meet ya), Garry, Mark, Mikey, Sparky Bills, MotoXXX list goes on you know who you are, till next time![]()
Hayden and the Loose one both doing 78s in their last session, but Loosies rear was well fooked and he was leaving rubber through the kink coming onto the main straight... good to watch and know he wasn't gonna leave wondering what could have been.
Good day up at the track and jealous as f#$k that I didn't have the bike with me. Good on ya all for keeping it sticky side down and providing some entertainment, and pleased to meet all those who I met for the first time.
Slingshot Good vids bro, but rename "Hayden" to Loosebruce. Looks like everyone was having fun and shaking their thang.
See you boys (and Flame) at the next one.
Incidently, anyone know how fast Flame was? She was the GIRL on the 600 kicking half the fields arse......*snigger*
