Double demerit weekends, yup they worked

Most of the open roads in Aus, it's 110km/hr speed limit - Couple of stretches of roads are even 120. Then there is the stretch between Alice and Darwin where there is no speed limit...

I had thought most of the Stuart High Way was an 'Open Speed' limit? If you are pulled over its if they (Police) feel its unsafe?

and if the authorities here were really serious about road safety and not revenue collecting, yeah right, then that is the policy they should adopt...............

I forgot that I'd mentally added in the 10 kim/h tolerance.

The Northern Territory traffic laws were updated from 1 January 2007 to be similar to the rest of Australia. This included placing a speed limit on all roads (130 km/h/81 mph) on major highways such as the Stuart Highway and significantly increasing penalties for speeding

I just went for a quick strop from Ranui up to Mairangi Bay & sat at a nice cruising speed yet didnt see a single cop on a normally heavily policed section of road. Cops shouldn't get obsessed with bike riders speeds they should be more worried about the dozey drongos half asleep in their people movers that constanly pull out while not turning their heads to look first!
