i have already seen some atrocious driving and it's only 7.30 friday
i saw plenty of police cars but was not travelling fast enough to bother them
i got a ticket for travelling at 104kmh or faster
i was travelling so fast i just decided to keep going knowing they couldn't catch me
i did the runner, but wasn't as class as i thought, and am writing this from prison and/or hospital
Don't take too long, or the bloody weekend will be over.![]()
Nunquam Non Paratus
Where's the option "I was too scared to get out of bed"?
I had a very enjoyable ride home tonight bugger all traffic between town and the hutt. Closest I got was a CVIU unit travelling beside me and an incident at the base of Liverton Road and SH2 with what looked to be an; I car, Delta unit and 2 H/Way Patrol units bailing up a car in the small grassed area off the road, although by the quick glance I had I would suggest speeding was not the cause
O and a red camera van but hey until the new ones roll out that photograph both ways I do not count them lol

Got pulled over by HP riding between Haywards Hill turnoff and Silverstream along SH2 tonight. Couldn't for the life of me work out his problem as I was sure I was okay speedwise and was keeping pace with the traffic. Said officer proceeds to give me the third degree about how they're pulling over all motorcyclists as they are the ones that tend to be the speeders and berates me for ten minutes for doing 102 km/hr.
Eventually I told him he was a fucking idiot, he informed me any more attitude like that I'd be arrested for obstructing an officer of the law executing his duty and we finished with an "I'll be seeing you on the road Sir".
Fuck em. Idiot is as idiot does. Not impressed one iota.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Bang on although I was not looking at my clock, just my speedo 'Yeah Right'![]()
They're addressing the wrong end of the speeding spectrum. Not many people in cars or on bikes lose control and crash at speeds between 104 and 110. Its the f*wits up there at 140 and above who are going to find a sudden lack of adhesion and come to grief.
While I was living in Aussie they used to have 'double demerits' weekends, if you got a ticket you got double the demerits. Boy, that worked.
Had today off work and I got to go for a short spin to Little River - half way between Christchurch & Akaroa. I intended to keep it under the 104 and pretty much did for 99% other than a squirt passing a car doing 85 (you know how it goes - slow car should easily pass at 100 max, twist throttle and oops). Spied a mufti doing the run but it was all good as I was on my self imposed 104.
And it was COLD.
Keep safe this weekend, the weather is not looking good beyond Saturday.
When I was living in aussie I saw accidents daily, many many accidents, less on the weekends though, traffic was blocked in every direction. No idea where a person would go in order to break the speed limit.
Closest I got was warping the head on my XE Falcon when the bitch over heated in a 6 hour traffic jam on the way to Noosa.
