TSS Red Baron - now have on line sales available

I hope I'm not breaching any site rules but would like to assist my good sponsor TSS Red Baron by letting you all know that their website is up and running and they can now do on line sales.

Check out their competitive prices at http://tssredbaron.vstore.ca/

Help support those who support the racing scene, and myself of course.

(I had to include a price - not everything is only $50 sorry)
Visit the team here - teambentley

Thanks to my sponsors : The Station Sports Cafe and Bar | TSS Red Baron | Zany Zeus | Continental | The Office Relocation Company | Fine Signs | Stokes Valley Collision Repair | CBWD Digital Media Inbound Marketing

Great Service, great people to deal with

I can recommend this - is well worth a look. I got a good deal on a set of Supercorsa tyres off the Online Store, then Ivan went the extra mile for me and sourced a set of Rain Tyres which I found very useful last weekend. I never had the need to deal with TSS much before but was very impressed with the service I got off the Online Site and in Store and I will be using them again.
    pretentious moi?

Funny, I'm still waiting for the parts guy to call me back or reply to my emails from back in March when I was chasing a part for my WR250F. Basically have given up on him now. Will the website work better with more enthusiasm than the humans?
    Cheers

It basically fails eCommerce 101 on the basis that most people will just close the page and look for somewhere that doesn't require them to jump through the sellers hoops. They don't sell anything unique, and they have the likes of eBay and trademe to contend with, so they're just shooting themselves in the foot.

If the developers didn't strenuously suggest to do it otherwise to them, they should be first to sacked... even the most retarded eCommerce degree covers common basic issues like, 'How can I make it easy for the customer to spend money, and what sort of things will put them off doing so'.

Requiring the customer to login is pretty close to the top of major fuck ups.

Just as the two wise folk above wrote.

I have enough logins and passwords to deal with already. I'm not going to bother to create an account just to see the prices... just to see if it's then worth actually buying something off them. If they all did this, would I have to make an account at every one of the local bike shops?

(Geez, they could at least hook up with one of the federated login schemes, like "myOpenID" or something...)

Would they make me sign some bit of paper before letting me walk in the door and snoop around the shop?

Deano, tell them to sort that shit out. There are two items I'm interested in on their site but even so I can't be arsed logging in to see the prices.

And to register, almost all of the personal fields are required. Seems more like an elaborate survery method to me.

    EDIT:

login details for those who can't be arsed

You're mixed up in this? If so, then definitely get them to check out some usability studies, this stuff has been looked at quite in depth by some pretty clever people. They can also use their webstats to see how many visitors they get compared to how many people make logins, to how many people make purchases, to quantify their conversion ratio. Mind you, if their eCommerce people haven't already made that easy for them, then give them another brutal kicking.

I was only saying that to Deano because he has taken the time to post up some info about one of his sponsors and they are taking a beating over their website. I don't for one second think he'll be able to change anything, but constructive criticism is better than straight out criticism.
