All's well that started badly and ended well I now have a VERY loud burglar alarm in place, and have just this minute received a cheque from AMI for a very fair and reasonable payment. I'm more than happy with it So thank you AMI for not messing around and thanks to ANZA, Freedom Suzuki and City Honda for digging back into the past and coming up with exact times and dates, that really helped. Time to go gear shopping

Glad it all came together for you. Sounds like the dumb little f&ck was targeting your bike. Bike thieves are the lowest form of scum, a kind of modern day cattle rustler as it were. Any joy with the cops?

I think he would have LOVED to get his hands on the bike. It's still in the garage with 2 alarmed locks on it so he'd be lucky to get it now. Still haven't got around to changing the locks on it though, that's due soon - now I can aford it Haven't heard anything from the police and not really expecting to, but you never know..............

Something that Insurance companies seem to be forgetting to tell people these days: When the stuff gets replaced DO NOT put the packaging out for recycling. " They" are keeping an eye out for it, to know when to come back for a second go.

Yup I always dispose of packaging for anything expensive or portable and sought after via the compactor at work.

    Well. They did it again.

Was in Wellie Sat night and got a call first thing Sun morning saying my house had been broken into.

Get back to find that despite very large stickers all over the place the dirty little lowlifes had smashed three windows. First up was the glass in the front door. Thanks to the deadbolt I installed theye got no joy there so moved on to another window with no luck.

Finally, a third window where they managed to sqeeze through a very small gap.

This is where the fun started according to my neighbour

Neighbour calls 111 and goes outside.

It's 5 am Sun morning and the alarm goes off. They must have dropped down into the living room triggering the alarm. Apparantly all hell broke loose as they freaked out and desperately rushed around inside trying to get out. They finally managed to sqeeze back through the window pausing only to take my computer, modem and speakers!

Then it was a frantic scramble over a 6 foot fence and a very loud escape.

Five carloads of police arrive within 6 mins, with dog

Dog tracks two guys and they get one who hilariously is running back towards my street.

He has no evidence on him so they can't arrest him - arrgh!

    Other one gets away.

I clean up mess and luckily have a spare computer although I have to buy new cables and mouse.

I'm on good terms with the Police forensics man by now and he's back yesterday getting a beautiful shoeprint left on my stereo cabinet.

This pretty much confirms it's the same guy as last time. He's known to the Police, 15 years old, and lives around the corner.

Knowing what the answer will be I ask, can you go round to his house and look at his shoes?

No, we're not allowed to violate his rights. However..............

I'm going to follow this up. I'd recomend that anyone reading this write to your MP and demand that the Police NEED the power to bail these guys up and take whatever evidence necessary to convict them.

As for the guy who did my place, well I think the net may just be closing.

    well that is bullshit..

Anyone running up the street at 5am on a sunday morning is obviously either up to no good or mentally insane. Either way, they should be picked up.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

So get out there and spray paint some pointed comments on the road outside his house - he, his parents, and all the neighbours will get the message....

+1 on his whole post (although I would recommend a bit of 91 octane on the house instead of painting it... make sure the little fuck is inside it when you burn it down though).
