Don't ya hate it. RIP Maz

Me faithful old mazda 323 got taken out today by a chick that ran a stop sign. Both me and my boy ok, apart being shaken . front is totalled, apart from hitting the brakes in the pouring rain ,little else i could do in the second i had.
Its only a old car , feels like I'm losing an old friend .
had it for 13 years , never broken down anywhere, hardly cleaned it, oil change every 5k, chased girlfriends, moved flats, brought my son home from hospital in it. even towed a 2 tonne digger across town one morning once ,when the work truck shit itself.

fark and I thought i only loved me bike

It's good to see you've taken a positive attitude to the event. Any idea what you'll replace it with?

Good to hear you Boys are Ok.

A good old Japper aye? I bet we've all known one - far from the days of people saying "Jap crap"

MANY years ago, I put a Death Notice in the paper for one of my cars, an orange Skoda it was (Don't laugh) had to do some fast talking with the Daily Post to get it published, wouldn't happen today.

BTW Boris The Skodes still ran fine, despite being nicked and wrapped round a pole - was the final straw with the then GF who rang and woke me "Someones nicked your car from my place and I've got no way of getting to work" Pffft

Yeah, and well done wth the digger tow lol, well above the call of duty for the Tree-2-tree lol

Well accessor was round today to look at the car, take some pics etc. Left a key and a crowbar out for him. Message on my cellphone this afternoon confirming They are writing it off. Payout offer is very good and my expenses on top , money in my account by weekend it sounds .
For a insurance company with only a average rep. I'm impressed.

Now do I replace it or put money towards a adv Bike..........

Glad you guys are okay! Isn't it funny how you get attached to vehicles? They seem to have their own characters when you have had them for a long time. Bummer to lose your good old Maz...

My first car was an AP5 Valiant, ran slicks as standard. Well, technically not slicks but effectively the same, no tread left on the tyres. Went everywhere sideways. Big sloping 6 motor that had plenty of grunt. I had a panelbeater friend that did contra work for motorcycle repairs, between my boyfriend and him my car was as straight as a straight thing. I even painted it one day, beautiful, one colour all over, primer grey with brush strokes

I swapped it for a motorbike (as you do). I warned the bloke to watch out as it would not go straight around corners, but he must have thought I was just a blonde bimbo who was scared of it. He paid no heed, had the car 4 days and totalled it on the Royal Oak Roundabout I was gutted!
