Hey He Whore Ha ....something something something?
Yeah I know it.
And I know what it means.
So what?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

There is no official New Zealand national anthem in Maori. Check the history of the new Zealand National anthem and you will find we do indeed have 2 national anthems that have equal standing. They are "God Save the Queen" and "God Defend New Zealand" as penned by Thomas Bracken and given the Royal assent in 1976. Although there was a Maori traslation carried out at the request of Governor Sir George Grey in 1878 this was not part of the anthem approved by Her Majesty the Queen.

Best Maori song ever yo
All the maoris will be at the beach.
Oh, I hadn't realised this forum was run by the National Front. Perhaps you'd all be better off learning Deutschland uber alles?
Yes, I know the Maori version, but wouldn't sing loyalty to god and the queen even if you paid me. Well, okay, maybe if you paid me - but not otherwise.

I quite like the sound of the Maori version, and to be totally honest feel a bit silly not knowing the words after many years of hearing them.
I guess it's a generation thing. My niecess and nephew knock it out with ease.
Guess it is difficult to train/teach older dogs.
I'll give it a crack this season though.
My 11yr old daughter knows it, and her 3yr old sister has got it pretty down-packed as well. Kids eh, they're like sponges. Good for cleaning up spills.
I've never seen the point of it. The mind-numbingly boring English version is enough. Surely.
Besides, does it impart a sense of national "we're all one people" to all? I don't think so.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
A few months ago me and a couple of workmates found we didn't know how either version of the NZ anthem went, it took about an hour but eventually we managed to remember one which turned out to be the Maori version (think it comes easier as it flows much better) we still had no fucking idea how the english one went (since have worked that one out too).
The things you forget once you leave school ay...

I love watching the TV when they sing the anthem before a rugby football match, you hear a mumbled effort from the crowd during the Maori version, then as soon as that stops the entire crowd bursts into life singing it like it should be lol

Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
Surprised myself at the NZ Maori V ireland game last night that I managed to remember the maori version at the start of the game. I like it more than people like my singing!
