    eek Sorry, football time

WTF was that Mr Capello. You do realise you've got some fuckin good talent there and we aren't using it. Why not? ITS THE WORLD CUP FFS... did you not see what Sven and his legacy did.

I suggest a change of tactics mate.

Across the back: Johnson, Terry, A Cole
Barry, Carrick sitting behind the midfield
    Midfield: Milner(SWP), Lampard(?Rooney?), Gerrard, J Cole
Up Front: With that squad, i'm going with Crouch (highly underrated as a footballer and will strike from anywhere... plus the ariel threat)

These guys can pass a football.

Give the armband back to Terry. When Stevie G plays a Captains game, he isn't concentrating on his fuck yeaaaah game. And that's what them overpaid bastards need to bring when they play Slovenia...

    Rant Over...

The title would be more apt without the comma.

In general agreement with most of that especially giving Terry the captaincy back. Stevie G does lose his bite when the armband is on.

I would tend to start with Crouch as you said and put Rooney just behind the attack line. Dafioe can produce the goods as well, he just needs quality ball. Lampard looks like World Cup Fever has struck him again, Lennon has been run of the pitch twice, all in all it was the worst single England performance in years.

All not lost though, a win over Slovenia will see us through and we could go top and win the group. Otherwise we come second and a possible second round match with Germany....and we all know what happens there. Mind you, the Krauts getting a spanking this morning will be huring them.

Ah fuck it, it's the world cup, a chance to bang on about bollocks and watch a decent amount of quality footie.

Mashman, most of what you have rightly said will be echoed around the pubs and takeaways of England right about now as the pubs are closing. Then it's down to the curry house for vindaloo and more lager, slip away early to give the best mates wife one up against the wall of the kitchen and then home to herself who is fast asleep, snoring and farting as you enter the room, just like being piped aboard by the navy......I used to love Friday football, me........

I'd stick Rooney up front like he plays for United, with Stevie "100k a week and can't take a corner" Gerrard in the old Sheringham role, I think it might be an idea for someone to introduce him to Lampard ahead of the next match as well. Agreed on Carrick in front of the defence, but I'd still probably stick with a back-4

One of the most pleasing sights in all sports to an Aussie is seeing Wayne Rooney with the shits.

Agreed (he can too take corners ). But we don't have the support in the midfield to leave a 4 (strangers) at the back... they always look vulnerable because the midfield opens up quicker than a boozed up Essex girl ... but 2 defensive midfielders would give us masses of options, plus give us 5 at the back quickly, also would give us 2 extra midfielders quickly, you could say 3-6-1 if ya like... Capello has the midfield, I suggest he learns how to use it before the big boys come to play.
