It may not be a result from the front, but 15th for Simone Grotskyj at Mugello and 14th at Silverstone in 125.
Simone was 2005 Italian champ in 2005, two seasons in 125 (2006, 2007) half a season in 250 (2008) and a major MX training accident in 2009 (ruptured stomach).
So, after 3 years off 125,he gets points in first races back and in both, first Italian home (actually there are only 3 or 4 this season which is strange. Shows how much the Spanish are capturing this sport). He took over from the 2009 Italian 125 champ who has not scored points and has moved a couple of teams.
Simo comes from a regular family in Pesaro so has little money, but is a great guy and has put together a strong network.
The Team Fontana Racing bike is a good bike and the team seems to be a good team, so fingers crossed he can carry on with the good results.
I met Simo in 2006 while working with his sister in the UK. Hung out at a few GPs and got to see the inside of privateer GP teams. It is truly hard work, but if you have a well organised effort it is managable.
So, I count him as a mate and managed to school him in one aspect of racing: FULL NOISE!!!!
Cheers
Steve
