NZ Police = damned if they do and damned if they don't.

And yes, there are plently of tossers out there that think that if they try to do a runner, then the cops will abandon pursuit.

Of course police (and govt) want to minimise risk to the public and collateral damage. They are afterall obliged to. Sadly, an obvious side affect of that is that some numpties will get away, but it seems the lesser of two evils when if they do pursue, so many then jump up and down when a pursuit goes pear-shaped.

Blame is always with the numbskull that decides to run. Unfortunately, the decision to pursue (and thereafter the continuation of) can be considered a contributing factor in a fatal pursuit. None of us would want to be in their shoes that day.

well i'm on bourban as i dont' like red wine.

My opinion on boy racers...hey we were all young and stupid at one stage but.....

    cars weren't so lethal.

    we only drank beer

we had respect for the police

those that did runners...always got caught so what wa the point of running.

Personally, I think alot of this goes back to the parents and perhaps if they had instilled some boundaries their darling offspring would have some self control. bring back the strap and the cane at school. stop selling alcohol to anyone under 20. young drivers shouldn't be able to have a car bigger than a 1000cc's. the penalties need to be harder ie....you drive bad you lose your car - instant. forget the fines, it means nothing to them, get them out sweeping the roads and cleaning public toilets. parents...keep your children at home, dont' let them roam the streets from the age of 10. ffs, i'm winding up now. best i get another bourban

Give the Police proper air support. A Heli in each city would soon become a deterrent. At least then the police cant be accused of causing the incident by chasing. How do they pay for it? Put up speed cameras at accident blackspots, and watch the money come rolling in.

    Fuck yeah
All of this, all of this can be yours, Just give me what I want and no one gets hurt
