    Pre89 Senior, YSS Suspension FZR1000, Vic r2

Now i remember why i didnt ride in the winter series last year !, cold, wet & dodgy conditions pretty much prevailed !, felt sorry for the marshalls out there in it all.

We had a good weekend overall, and learnt more about our new suspension and its set up. made some changes (mainly to the front end) and improved the bike on the brakes a bit which was good.

Decided to enter f1 as well for the extra track time/set up time and ended up on the front row after qualifying - so decided to do the race on Saturday, which was fun and managed to run at the pointy end of the field (until my footpeg came loose, & then fell off). Oh well never mind.

In Pre89 class, race one was wet, and we managed to get away into a lead and take the win. That other ole fella Earnie Cudby rode real well into 2nd place (on track) on the Junior bike.

On sunday - i only raced in the pre89 class, and managed another couple of wins, which was great. Stephen Mossman rode real well in the third and last race hanging onto my tail for 3-4 laps, until he unfortunately lost the front & crashed out. Better luck next time Mossey!

All in all a good weekend, and we developed the YSS gear a bit more in the dry , however made little progress on a good wet set up (even though we had plenty of time on track to find one !)

Yeah I presume if you'd had Ohlins then the footpeg wouldn't have fallen off due to the reduced vibrations or something.
    Cheers

Geez with the amount of tools ya had there on Friday, surely on of those would've been of use for tightening a footpeg! Hahaa!

I reckon Chopper loosened your footpeg as he was worried you'd give him the learn.

Been waiting with interest to see how you got on. Nice effort.

Top job in the F1. Nice reminder that the rider is still the biggest variable...esp since I can't afford to buy my talent

No need, Glen already knows deep down that hed go faster again with thoroughbred gear. Glen also knows that he is the fastest rider in that class.

Its was interesting to watch one of your (Sunday) races Glen , Mossy into the hairpin first and you playing around behind doing what you do best , freaking all the "after Glen's " with talent.
Suddenly you had enough of being behind him and pulled the pin , standard engine huh lmfao . Insert Tuio advert here ------->

Good results if not a bit predictable in posties but really good you did so well in F1 , i bet that got a few people nervous hehehe.

PS; there is a new product called "thread locker "available mate , ill get a bottle for you to stop those nasty Yamaha vibes making bolts fall out randomly.

    Paul.

Theres a lot in just what you have said that really smacks of that old chestnut alive and well in New Zealand, tall poppy syndrome. Your post would have been agreeable but for the last totally unneccsary parting shot.

If it wasnt for people that were prepared to step up with wads of cash eg M1 Motorsport OUR SPORT WOULD BE THE POORER FOR IT.

Similarly if it werent for the many budget level racers who make great sacrifices to turn up and race the sport would also be poorer for it.Add to that the many people with skills that selflessly help these people for no commercial gain.

I think what I have said above is generalised, fair and reasonable and is a subject that Im not linking to deliberations on suspension choices.

Reckon it's pretty clear who's gonna pull the end right off one day, from what you've said.

Fuckin cool racing Mr Williams. Get back out there in F1 next month, that was bloody awesome. (Particularly since I no longer ride a thou for you to humiliate me on).

Awesome as always Mr Williams. I thought you were going to toy with Mossy a bit longer, but no.

If youd have understood it properly it was a generalised comment, and I think a very fair one.
