    Monitor needs repair.

Computer monitor off my packard bell needs repair. Display went suddenly wider and blurry then made a popping sound went all shaky and trembly then went back to wide and blurry.... Anyone know of any good repairers in the franklin/south auckland area's? I'm using the old monitor off our old pc and it's bloody small. Any one got a good 17" monitor thay want to sell?
    Thanks Andy.

I usually find that there is no point in getting a monitor repaired. They are cheap enough new, and once they start to play up it generally means the end isn't too far away for it.
I think the phrase rhymes with "Clucking Bell" - Blackadder

You can buy a 20" on there for $50!

Thanks jim2 and others. Didn't realise they were so cheap. Had only looked at gamma computers site so far. Jim do you sell these or have you just found those prices on the net? I am getting by with an old 15" at the moment but it's like going back to a 125 after riding a 1000cc in a way....

With flat screens getting so cheap now, there are a lot of used 17/19/21 crt monitors at giveaway prices too
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

That's your V hold circuit my friend. Should be easy and cheap enough to fix. Shame ya don't live closer or the Biffmeister could have fixed that for you.

    http://www.pricespy.co.nz/ is great

It compares prices from the majority of NZ PC stores that have their prices online.

In wellington at least, the BEST place by far for repairs is http://www.monitor.co.nz/ Wayne is a fvcking legend, and they do damn good prices on used monitors too, with 6 month guarantees which you wont get on most used monitors.
