Soft Panniers

looking around for a new set of panniers for the Daytona with a hi-mount muffler,does anyone have or had these ones?

And what are your thought's?

I have had the oxford in the past and they fit with the current muffler,but they have had a rough time so are fooked,

Have a look at Cycletreads. I was in the same situation looking for soft bags that will cope with undertail pipes. Treads had the Oxford range and another (can't remember name) and they both looked bloody decent.

I have a set of the Oxford ones which worked fine with the Hornet stock pipes. Dont work at all with the Scrambler because of the STUPID seat design, and the Thunderbike pipes.

I'm keeping them for my next bike though. But i do recommend the Oxford ones. my only gripe is one of the rain covers disappeared in the Manawatu gorge due to the idiot who put it on not putting it on correctly. Didnt leak much, and a plastic rubbish bag worked fine the rest of the trip.

yes the Oxfords have been good,as they have travelled more than 30'000k on the bike but nothing last for ever,I see Cycletreads sell them at a good price,around $100 cheaper than they are locally.....thats alot of fuel so looks like its more of a case of keep with what one knows at least I oxford fit on the bike well

I had Givi saddle bags at one point, seemed ok but I sold them before I really had used them but if you'd like comments on them ask Yod, I sold them to him, he'd be able to give constructive feedback on that brand.

I use the Oxford 'First Timers' on my VFR with high pipes - they're very good, but I just need to be careful that they're sitting clear of the pipes which most of the time is fine but they can get close and if they touch leave a nasty mark on the pipe
