    Another Welly biker down 3/7/2010

    Location: Wellington
    District: Wellington

At approximately 11:00pm on Saturday 3rd July 2010, a 22yr old male motorcyclist died as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle crash.
The male who was the sole rider of the Suzuki motorcycle and was travelling south on Russell Tce, Newtown, Wellington where he struck a taxi (car) carrying out a turning manoeuvre.
The rider was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained serious injuries.
He was transported to Wellington where he died a short time later.
The taxi driver was not injured and was not carrying passengers at the time.
Police specialised units attended the area and carried out a scene examination with on going enquiries to be completed.
The details of the rider will not be released until next of kin have been advised.

For chrissakes guys. Watch out for those bastards! They really are out to get us! RIP.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

A young motorcyclist died after being thrown from his bike in a crash in Wellington last night, police say.

The 22-year-old man was travelling south on Russell Terrace in the suburb of Newtown when he collided with a turning taxi about 11pm.

He was seriously injured when he was thrown from his Suzuki motorbike and died a short time after being taken to Wellington Hospital.

The taxi driver was not injured and was not carrying passengers at the time, police said.

Police specialised units carried out a scene examination and enquiries were ongoing.

The motorcyclist's next of kin had not yet been informed.

    Rest In Peace young rider.

Maybe for bikers safety the u-turn should be outlawed?

    Thank you.

Sorry to ask this but where are the posters of this thread breaking the site rules?

I can understand the 24 hours thing but as there was a link to the NZHerald then I thought that all that has been said in this thread was already public knowledge?

Not starting anything here Hitcher, just making sure.

Don't worry about it, just head the warning.
Offending posts may have already been removed, but the bit about the Taxi's being out to get us, may be borderline.

Anyhow, RIP to the young fella, and sincere condolences to the family and friends of this chap.

I thought all cagers were out to get us, at least they are with me......... I treat every cage as an ignoramus, and expect am all to do something stupid right in front of me if they get the chance.
I suspect the taxi driver will be feeling absolutely crap, regardless of whether he was right or wrong, it was an accident which could have happened to any of us. Take head, it is winter, wet and cold season, ice possibility in some places. Better to take care and get there, than to rush and drop it.
The only resolve, at least it wasn't a police car, nor was there a pillion. Sad loss, and like other posters here, my condolences to the family. May the Lords rest peace and grace be with them through this tough sad time of grief.

Sorry, wasn't me. Watch out for those taxis, white vans, police cars and buses. Theyre out to get us all.
