    How often should you replace a helmet?

    Making the assuption it has not been dropped or anything, i have heard anything from 2 year to 10 year, help please (not from a sales man trying to screw me out of $500 lol)

    Short answer is when it doesn't fit properly anymore.
    Some wear them every day, others only on a Sunday.... So saying 5 years is as hit and miss as knowing the history of a second hand one!

    If it feels loose, head to the shop to try on a new one to feel the difference.

    My last one was WAY over due for replacement.
    Looking back, i really should have replaced it earlier than I did.

    The replacement cost isn't high... 18 months licence fee for a near top of the line Shoei...

    Replace it once you have been k.od or dropped it hard.

    Other than a major drop or in an accident, there really isn't any rule that I'm aware of. They all stretch, so you may need to re-pad it, but helmets can last for years if you look after them properly

    You only bought this helmet as the nice policeman in Australia told you to spend the $200 fine in Australia......................
