    Vodafone RED ZONE Broadband

So has anyone got this deal whereby Voodoofone do your home line and superfast RED ZONE Broadband for you?

$100 gets you a home phone, 30Gb fast Broadband, 10 Email adresses and some webspace.

I won't use 30Gb, so it's all sweet for me and Telecom currently fleece me for more than that.

As Voodoofone have their gear in my local exchange and a fast service is what I am really after, it seems like a good option to me.

Telecom have given me just one too many get out clauses and I am now going to change.

    Comments appreciated.................

Get rid of Telecom! They are terrible.

Have you noticied how Telecom always seem to be in court with the Commerce Commission for misleading customers?

About the only warning I can give you is the customer satisfaction surveys that get run quarterly (by MED I think, which get publicised from time to time). Telecom used to always loose. Now they have a competitor - Vodafone. Often Telecom and Vodafone now tie for the most unhappy customers.

I used Vodafone's 3G service a lot - but I'm a business customer, and I don't have to deal with their residental teams. I've found them to be good.

Also note that Orcon is likely to have their own network in your area as well.

Thanks for the advice. Orcon does seem to be more expensive than Voodoofone.

Whilst Telecom is generally crap, we do get an excellent service. My wife's employer set up a home terminal and the performance was very poor. Our Ping test showed a line quality of 'F'. Her employer kicked some Telecom ass and it went to a line quality of 'A' in a matter of a few days.

No change is the easiest option however I just don't like the way Telecom have been messing us around.

There is a relationship between price and quality.

We are on Vodafone Homebox for our 'landline' and its performance is piss poor. Essentially if you are not in Auck/Well/Chch or in the CBD of a major centre then 3G is wishfull thinking and coverage is patchy to say the least. Call drop out, missed incoming calls and delays in getting dial tone (reception) are all too common and much worse in bad weather. We are rural but only 3km from New Plymouth city limits with good line of sight to NP so not 'out in the sticks' by our standards, but unfortunately Vodafone's standard

Im on Vodafone RED ZONE Broadband
    Its not amazing but OK
I have some reliability issues and communication from vodafone is pretty crap
I got a cheaper deal than you though

I think check Orcon out, my main dislike with them is they didnt have a flat rate plan i.e. if you go over the limit the bill goes up
But I think Orcon is the fastest and from what I hear will be getting even faster soon

I have it too and i'd agree with that. Does the job for me though.
We also have our sky account with vodafone and as a result we get MySky for free.

    from today's Sideswipe:

A frustrated Vodafone customer writes: "Stop texting me your damned surveys! I will NEVER recommend you to a friend/colleague. (I doubt they would want to receive repeated texts asking if they would recommend you to anyone else either!) You ignore requests to 'opt out' of these surveys. You send people to my house who hammer on the windows late at night to try and sell me more of your services. You don't call back when I register a complaint .
    Article continues below

Why would I recommend you to anyone? Since the phone lines to your complaints department are experiencing 'unusually high call volumes' (small wonder!) perhaps you'll take notice of this message."
