    CBR250RR Fuel problem?

Hey All, what do you think of this bike http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-302972064.htm

I haven't had time to check it out, and it will be my first bike. Guy reckons it could be a fuel issue, I don't mind getting my hands dirty, though i know nothing on bike mechanics. Would it be a good buy, and any ideas as to what it would be and how much it would cost to fix?

    Thanks!

not sure if the 1st bike you buy should be one with an unknown issue... might be a bunch of issues leading to the fuel problem? but you would need to get it mechanically checked, either by a mechanically minded kiwi biker. or a mechanic at a local garage.

quite a few cbr people on here though that could possibly shed some light on the possible issue.

    Hey mate,

I just bought that bike for 500 bucks and sold it for a 1000 to him. Didn't know he was out to make a few bucks, thought he wanted to get it through compliance. How much are you offering him for it?

It's a pretty fucked bike mate... just incase you don't know what you're getting into. If you are then shouldn't be too much of a problem though... would be a good little job getting it registered, it's definitely possible. Though as a first bike, if you aren't a little mechanically experienced I'd definitely avoid it. The instrument panel is fucked, barely held on there, rim is dented, rear cowling does not come off because key is lost, ignition is fucked etc... the fuel problem is only a minor part.

If you haven't seen it in the flesh then prepare to be dissapointed- pretty much everything is fucked on it... in fact it depresses me to think people can make a bike deteriorate like that, it's a disgrace really... these are fine japanese machines born from extreme engineering of the 90's... still better than any new 250 shit today.
