2 stroke engines need to breath.

Check the air filter isn't blocked and the exhaust insides haven't fallen apart and blocked the exhaust. Does the throttle cable jam up and stop the carbi butterfly's from opening?

cleaned and oiled the air filter about 2-3 weeks ago was thinking the exhaust may be blocked or gunked up and no the throttle cable doesnt jam carbs were cleaned at the same time as the air filter

    Power valves?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

If you say so. Thought they were in the V models.

What he says. If the power valves aren't opening...the bike won't want to rev.

Yep, exactly what I was about to say. Happens all the time with the RG's, for some of us a little too bloody often! *sigh*

If it is the power valves then shout out cause you will not want to pay retail to buy new ones or get them fixed. There is a guy on KB that can fix them at a VERY reasonable cost!
