It seems like there are laws in place to stop parents or guardians from exploiting children by forcing them to work unreasonably and when they're too young to stand up for themselves, which would probably have been overlooked in this case - except that some fucktard dobbed him in. At least that's what it looks like to me. Surely it's more a case of a law being too inflexible than a law which shouldn't exist - I'm sure there are parents who would work their children to the bone and then spend all the money on booze.

One of our kids played in a pub band at the tender age of 13, always accompanied by his parents (who got to drink his share of the bar tab)
I was always intrigued by the do gooder parents of his mates who would chastise us for allowing him to be in a pub at that age! I knew what my kid was doing on a Saturday night, whilst theirs were off at some unsupervised party, getting trollied and/or worse!
