Last year Jorge was offered 13 Million to go to Ducati for two seasons. So there's ya starting point.

Rossi has to go he'd be crazy not to...Jorge's proved he's up to the pace on the same bike so Rossi needs to find another edge.
To go to Ducati the mind can only boggle at the thought of an Italian champion on an Italian bike and Marlboro cash to fund it.

Ducati's effort will quadruple and of course the shot in the arm it will give to MotoGP is the icing on the cake.

Na Rossi has gotta go to Suzuki
Wouldn't be racing if it wasn't for:MotoMart, Pirelli, EBC Brakes, Ripecoffee.co.nz, Slotmedia.co.nz, Totalbodyshop.co.nz and Wurth

Seeing as we're all guessing ,
    Burgess at Yamaha with Speez,
Rossi for his 10th title at Ducati,
The three stooges at Honda winning a few races between them .

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

There are several parts to this story. Firstly, Rossi is friendly to other riders until they become a threat to his winning, then the psychological tricks start. Rossi doesn't like having to be in the same team as someone who stands a very real chance of beating him.
Secondly, Rossi was asked if he was prepared to take a pay cut, from the 13m euro he is currently getting. He agreed, until he found out it was to boost Jorge's salary to just 1 million less than Rossi would be paid after the pay cut.
The last part of the rumour (which has been circulating virtually the whole time MotoGP bikes have been 4-strokes) is that Rossi is being courted by Ducati - a fantastic dream for all his Italian fans, who'd love to see an Italian win on an Italian bike. The figures mentioned are of course that he'd be paid as much or more than he's getting at Yamaha.
The last bit of the rumour (and perhaps the most critical bit) is that Burgess and the rest of the team would move to Ducati as well, something that is probably required for Rossi to win on a Ducati. This rumour has so far been emphatically denied by Burgess.
Whether all/any of this comes true - we'll just have to wait and see.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

Doubt that sort of stuff would worry Burgess too much. After all...Mick Doohan was hardly the friendliest racer out there.

What ever happens, I think will be interesting. I think Motogp has been boring lately.

Look at moto2,250gp(when around),125's. All big fields with lots of battles. Motogp - smaller fields usually not to much going on. The commentators do well though.

Obviously a class with prototype machines and BIG budgets, some brands will get the edge at different times.

A big shuffle would stir up interest for everone. Even if Rossi doesn't go anywhere, look at all the rumors and coversations etc that have been going on in regards to the whole thing.

I say put him on the Ilmor, Oh wait that wasn't the kick arse bike that he thought it was going to be.

What could be kewl about the rumours (if they come true) is seeing if Rossi can kick arse on the Ducati (which, apart from Stoner, hasn't seen much success, despite often being the fastest bike in the paddock), thus - if he wins on it - proving he's a real talent. Also, if the speculated mixup in teams occurs, it could see Spies possibly elevated to Fiat Yamaha, see De Puniet going to Tech Trois (3), a French team and therefore good for his fans, and the annoying and boring Stoner going to Honda.
If the rumour mill / wishful thinking is true.
    Which it probably largely isn't.

I'm picking 2012 will be an exciting year - the return to 990cc machines, and by then Rossi and co will have sorted out all the ship-jumping and whatnot. Regardless of what happens, Rossi is still a great rider, and is still fantastically wealthy (whether or not Ducati pays him 13 million Euro per season). Unfortunately the field's are still going to be small, as even with the return to 990's it's still a very expensive class.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.
