Standard shock and forks modified are the best options for optimum geometry just need custom triple clamps

sorry but for those too lazy here is the spec class they run in thundersport GB, all modified aprilia sxv450's (called RRV's) by Ian Newton. God this looks fun. Class is run in conjunction with supermono's (800cc singles in tigcraft frame things)

bwahaha. 70 puppy dogs out of a 450 single. dream on.

The class in spain, which is probably one of the more advanced, they've been able to get about 55hp out of the motors, but they need rebuilding something like every 2nd or 3rd round they run.

A properly build and refined one In good hands would be reasonably fast, but they wouldn't trouble the nats grid, or even the pro-twin

I remember your Bucket racing from turn one at Methven

    You're a perfect size for GP125

one of these would be more fun to convert --->http://www.maicointernational.com/ht...to.html....the 500 would be legal in F3...67hp standard...a bit of a fiddle and it would be a giggle!!

i don't know where you've got stock 55hp from, but it aint what hits the ground off a half useful dyno. It may be possible to get slightly over this mark but it won't live for long, thus no one road racing them does. You only need to look at supermotards to 400's to get an idea how much snot they have.

on the times side i can only reference these really. If your as good as Scott, then you may have a shot at troubling pro-twin. Setting the time, and being able to race are two different things though.

either way its all in theory. If someone wants to build them, i wish them luck (actually). If you wanted to do it on a 450, you can buy kits with everything you need, for about 4 and half thousand euro, excluding gst and freight.

Surely you're not suggesting the manufacturers would exaggerate their HP figures?

my observation would be that a 450 wouldn't really have enough power to scare F3

Jason Easton used to run a 450 in his tigcraft... it used to get beaten by Andy Bowell on his ZXR440 or 450 down the straights. now Eric De Boer has the same ZXR and it doesn't have enough power to stick with the 550 Jason has now and 650 of Glen Williams etc etc.

I'm sure at club racing anything can happen (and does) because the pace isn't fast enough for it to matter as much
PM me or email me at mail@timmcarthur.co.nz for $45 knee sliders incl GST and shipping
