    Mac users - docx?

I have office mac 2000 and it doesn't recognise the docx format.

appears from the MS site that it's approx a $150 upgrade for a version that can accommodate a plug in reader. Screw that.

    Found any work arounds?

Plug-ins are available - free - to enable "docx" docs (and "xlsx"...) to be handled by some older versions of the Office suite (this link for Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003) ... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Use an online one or Open XML File Format Converter for Mac 1.1.5, although that prolly wont work for 2000.

Surprised some Linux hippy hasn't told you to throw it all in the skip as Microsoft and Apple are Evil.

Georgyboy is correct. Openoffice will convert it for yer.

Otherwise if it's an irregular thing then zamzar.com will do it online.

My reply was to george formby who mentioned "xp" - he might have meant his OS*, but if he meant his version of Word (or Office) then the free converter will be all good.

    * it might mean he's all good anyway - I don't know how old a version of Word will even run on Win XP.

Setup a google account if you don't have one...upload to Google Doc's which will convert the docx. You can then use it online with Google Apps, or export as doc, pdf etc. All for free.

Or alternatively get all of your Apple products in a big pile, pour petrol over them, set it all alight and save yourself and humanity all at the same time.
