    Save my CBR!

Hi guys, My 1990 Honda CBR250R Is having issues but I'm a bit reluctant to send it to Wellington motorcycles as last time I took it there with a miss they took a week and $600 to clean my carbs. I'm a hopeless mechanic and would really appreciate it if someone could recommend a workshop or handy bloke who wont rip me off.

The bike is very rough but went like a rocket until it spluttered to a stop on the way to uni. Thought it was out of fuel but topped it up but now it can only be crash started, struggles 30m on the gentle downhill in 1st gear and cuts out if given hardly any throttle.

I have a replacement rectifier as was told mine was faulty by Wellington Motorcycles but I'm not convinced its my whole problem and apparently they're easy to fry so I haven't plugged it in.

    Thanks in advance,

    Max

Have you checked the fuel pump? They're a very common problem on those bikes.

Check out the official "My Bike Won't Start" thread on cbr250.com

Otherwise give Richards Motorcycles in J'ville a try
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

    Missed this one earlier.

You could try Boyle Kawasaki in Newtown. I always take my bikes there. They are not swift but they are honest and won't over charge, or charge for things that don't need doing, and a good bunch of guys
