True but long lasting. If your going to go down the Mitzi road try to get a petrol sport pack L300 as the later ones are injected and comfortable to drive.

I drove a diesel L300 yesterday, and it was a cunt of a thing to drive with the column shift manual box.

musta got mine at the end of its life then, 260thou km and was really bad starting, leaked oil quite a lot, couldn't hold a hundy into a decent wind or hill. Its got an injected engine in it now though, so much better

columns are all good once you get used to them, but they are a lot easier to move the stick into a dead-zone at the top and bottom of the column I found. Though you always get some good cunt in the center seat who thinks its halarious to chuck hi knee in the way every time you go for fourth. Way better than center shifter cos you get an extra seat! can take yourself, a mate, two bikes and gears, and a medic to the track now, or cheerleader

Shit my old one is up to 409 thou and still on the same engine. I don't own it anymore but my mates rapt with it.

Those bloddy 3 speed borg warner boxes were shit. But your XA probably had heaps of low range horse power. I had a XT.
