Not to worry, gold will do.
My reason for posting is to applaud everyone for taking part in the rally,
and to apologise to the riders I'm sure I pissed off on the way round.
Namely the white suzuki on the return from Dart river, and the guys with the mohekans near Arthurs Pass. Sorry...

And my reason for posting is to apologise to Mark for holding him up and costing him Diamond. It had been a hectic week and I was very unprepared, still working on the bike until early friday evening how ever I did put new rear rubber on. Gave the chain and sprockets a cursory check before lubing and concluded they had plenty enough life in them. WRONG...... chain started slipping just out of Hawea, and when I finally caught up to Mark in Haast, he gave up his time and tools to adjust my chain up tight enogh to get me home, although I must admit to babying it through the coast twistys in an effort to get back to Christchurch. It was then Mark made the soon to be regreted decision to skip Jacksons due to the holdup

Again Mark, thanks for the assistance, it was much appreciated, and sorry if it cost you Diamond.....

All going well I'll be back next year on the GN to set the record straight for the smallest and most underpowered bike to finish the TT2000 yet (And one of the biggest guys riding a GN too).

i dont know about that.
Me and Johan (completed diamond on a goldwing) are considering trying it on stepthroughs next year.
We managed the brass last year, and plan to do it this year, we will do a bit of time trial to see if it can be done

Sorry i have re- read this and i wish to say i dont mean to belittle your effort on the GN i was in awe as i saw it cruise by, well done.
And i have to admit i will be trailering the steppy to an from the finish/ start if i use it next year.
Was a great weekend what an adventure.
