Welcome to Kiwibiker you two, and what a FANTASTIC hobby you have both picked up. Only been riding for a year myself but can't believe I didn't do it sooner - changed my whole world, and have never had such a blast.

All the best with settling into it all, you'll be grinning form ear to ear!

Welcome to the site. There is a group in Waikato that ride on most Sundays and meet at the te Rapa tavern on Wednesday (usually 10 people upwards & its in the calendar) that call themselves the Laxed Out Riders group. (LOR) there is also an on going thread if your interested (just do a search). Much useful information to be gained and they welcome newer riders to any of their rides.

the reason we are only under one if my g/f doesn't really do the whole forum scene, she's more of a face to face person.

as for the bikes, we have been looking at sports bikes (she's keen on a fer CBR250's we have seen) most of what we will be doing is the commute and the odd out of town trip, ok lets be honest, when we first get them we are hardly going to be home. but when things settle maybe out of town once a week and around town the rest. i doubt you will find us at a track day or anything like that, but i may have to throw mine down the 1/4 mile at tokoroa just to see what it does.

    Hi guys,

I've just joined KB myself. I've ridden a friends 1991 CBR250 (RR I believe). They are a crotch rocket, quite glad it wasn't my first bike! It makes my putt-putt 400 seem quite boring. Idles about 2000rpm and has very little go till around 7000rpm. Redlines at 19,000rpm. Awesome machine though. A few twisties under your belt and you'll never want to get off! But that's bikes all round.
