Oh and for you others, isn't it only called Zimbabwe if your a mugabe supporter? Thought it was Rhodesia for the rest of you :-)

Least thats what I got told a few years ago by a Rhodesian bloke who had a tendency to thump anyone who called him a zimbabwean :-)

When you mention anything negative on KB everybody has a go at it and mentioning a word like racist your are opening a door that should stay closed in public forum

even if you mean it as a answer to a question. So chill not all of us think it is only about us I for one dont but I have been on KB for a while and no what happens to comments like you have made.

I think the point PlacidFemme was making is that it is a small minority of right wing whites hanging onto the countries colonial past that still call the country Rhodesia. Or by its former colonial name Zimbabwe Rhodesia.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the first 'genuinely' elected government of the country dropped the colonial Rhodesia bit there were a large number of whites there that not only refused to accept the black governments decision to call is simply Zimbabwe, but also displayed racists tendencies by refusing to acknowledge the transfer of power to a freely elected black government as opposed to an enforced white 'regime', and in tern an end to apartheid in the country.

Zimbabwe didn't have apartheid... only SA did...

But as for everything else you said... I agree 100%

I also agree that Mugabe is a dope head as well, and Zimbabwe will one day hopefully return to the beautiful wealthy country it was destined to be once he is out of power, which will hopefully be soon
