Anyway, who cares about computer problems? Its a lovely day, traffic was courteous today - everyone pulled over to let the fizzer split through the traffic and my bike purred all the way to work...

Geez -- How did you get on in this morning's wind? I thought about bringing the Zrex to work this morning but reckoned that the wind would inflate the cover as I was unwrapping it and I'd end up somewhere in Island Bay! I heard on the radio it was gusting 160kmh and based on the way the tiles on our roof were moving, I believe every k of that...

Wasn't as bad as it seemed. I thought about taking the car when I heard the wind and rain this morning, but when it came time to leave it wasn't actually raining anymore. Bit blustery round the back of Wilton though.

Oh baby, that wind was wicked!

Got to the top of Haywards this morning, doing maybe 110, and the wind knocked me down to about 75 in a second flat! My shoulders were pretty sore from pushing the bars to lean into the wind.

Not too much fun, but I guess I was more awake when I arrived at work today than I have been all week..
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    Talking

    NZ Herald today...

Auckland had 1345mm of rain, or 104 per cent of normal, compared with 1040mm in Wellington.

Auckland also recorded less sunshine (2042 hours) than Christchurch (2362 hours) and Wellington (2271 hours) but more than Dunedin (which had a record year for sunshine - 1971 hours).

Yeah right. The only reason Aucklanders took the tree off One Tree Hill is so you couldn't see in leaning inexorably towards the north east. While it may blow hard in Wellington at least it doesn't blow all the time...

no complaints, never have to scroll sideways or any other way to see messages, if you 800x600 diehards are having problems, change to a higher resolution and enlarge your icon size if everything seems too small. much better!!

Just hope that you don't have to give it back ('cos your team used a Hawkes Bay player without completing the paperwork)

The Auckland Rugby Union has said it isn't going to protest. It lost the Shield fair and square. I guess Waikato probably fancy their chances to lift it (again) this weekend? It's a shame the Bay of Plenty wasn't still in the second division, because if it was, that would make the Shield a second-division trophy for the foreseeable future (probably forever, now that the NZRU in its wisdom has done away with first/second division promotion relegation).
