WANTED: FXR150 ignition barrel

Does anyone have an FXR150 ignition barrel with key for a commuter/bucket that they would like to sell to me at a reasonable price? If possible with the fuel tank lock thingeemajigee as well?

I've got a couple of ignition barrels, they've had the wiring cut off but not so short that they couldn't be joined up again, let me know if you don't get any offers closer to home, I've been eyeing up some keyless gas caps on TM but not sure if they'd fit, this might be the push I need to take a punt. If that doesn't work I'd have to get keys cut since I only have one for each bike.
Let me know if you want me to start in on this and how much of a hurry you are in.

It would seem that the fresh wellington breeze is somehow catching my key and 'lifting' the key enough to stop the engine dead, my barrel has been a bit dodgy lately. The bike died on me twice on the way home today and there seems to be no other explanation.... *sigh*

You sure there isn't a dodgy connection somewhere else? Once the barels flog out you should be able to pull the key out of the ignition and still have it go, it's the turning action which is why a beating with a srewdriver seems to be the thieves favorite trick. I'd check where the ingnition plugs into the rest of the wiring loom before you start replacing bits, These barrels are super simple and only have two wires they short together when turned on so if pulling on the key makes it stop I'd be suprised. More likely an intermittent connection at the plug.
Easy way to check would be to turn the ignition on and give the key a gentle tug / wiggle if the lights /dash all go out at that stage it's the barrel, if not look elsewhere.

Could be any bloody thing! When it happened the first time I jumped off and checked all the normal things as I thought Id blwon the bloody thing. It always used to keep going even when the key fell out of the ignition. Now I can't even lock the steering and when my bike died the second time today I actually watched my key starting to come outof the ignition. The bike died but as soon as I pushed the key back in it kicked over again. Also I gave the key a wiggle (as you stated above) when I got home and the dash lights kept going out....
Im gonna to tape the key down until I can replace the barrel and see if that solves the problem.

Check where the loom goes around the steering head chafing the wires or something I seem to remember someone here had a similar problem to yours a year or two back and that's what had caused it

hmm, not sure what it is now! The bike died again today for no apparent reason and then started again sweet as. Also, the bike keeps going when I pull the key out the igition again but stopped the other day when I tested it?
This is why women should stay in the kitchen....
