    At the moment I'm

    Cigarettes not smoked 22,279
    Money saved $10.129.56
Milestone 3 years 8 months and 1 week
Last milestone 31,800 hours without a smoke

If you're serious about it the milestones might help with morale etc. It's worked for me anyway.
You dont 'save' the money, what you do is, you dont give it to the Tabacco Company's.
By now, I should have an extra $2,100 somewhere and clearly I have not.
The money goes on other things.

You do know they get less than 20% of the retail price for a pack of fags? Tariana Turia gets the lion's share and she's still not satisfied (mind you, would you ever be satisfied - hanging out with Pita & Hone?).

Right, I'm off for a fag in the rain.

My husband has gone from 1 pack a day to smoking roleys (rollies sp??)
$100 versus $25 per week - when I pointed out that difference in money could be applied to payments to upgrade his bike - he thought it was a great idea.
Another bonus is that he will smoke less, and hopefully quit one day.

And what is really great is that I can ride his new bike too

You have to reward yourself somehow when you give up, thats how I did it.

You are not wrong there Kitty....my reward after 30 years of being a chimney....

    Brand New 2010 Kawasaki Ninja!

    Best reward ever.

Should I ever succomb to the urge to smoke (and that urge is there), then I shall lose my bike.

Great incentive to stay free.....ride free!

The only reason you would smoke coming out of your ass it's because you have just been reamed!

    Keep up the great work.
And for anyone else, I can thoroughly recommend Zyban drugs. Missus tells me I was no where near the arsehole she was expecting me to be (from previous attempts).

I decided to join up after reading this thread, 5 days and counting, I occasionally slip into my high pitched squeaky stressy voice and make the odd mountain out of a mole hill but on the whole not to bad so far
    Oh bugger

Yeah, well I am pretty proud of myself too, just over 7 months and no desire to smoke. Given the stress I have operated under for the past few months, and particularly since Mom died, the thought did cross my mind that it might be easy to start back up again, thankfully nope, not even tempted. Fantastic to be free of the friggen habit!

You're not wrong there....it is sooooooooo easy to start again.

Imagine how much it would rip your throat and it would take at least 6 drags before you adjusted to the disgusting taste...then, you'd be hooked again! It's so not worth it!

Well done to all who have sucessfully beaten this horrible, but socialably acceptable, addiction!
