    Howya from Ireland (Hats)

    Howya lads,

I've been offered a job in Wellington, but judging by the news today it doesnt look like it would be a good move

Anyway I ride a special XJR 1200 it's got the following

    oversize oil cooler
Brembo front stoppies off a 996
Full yoshi exhaust with carbon can
I replace the air box with high velocity air intakes
    Renthal bars
a few internal engine mods too.

thats about it so if you can give me a bit of advice I'd appreciate it

    Cheers,

    Hats

Everyone thought Wellington would be the receiver of the next big quake but no, Christchurch beat them to it.

    hiYah Hats,

welcome to KB. Wellington is a great city, a bit like a smaller, more relaxed Dublin. And we have gorgeous roads for riding nearby. If you need any info just PM me, but I say - go for the job!!

Weather is also similar to Ireland but prob not as cool or damp. A typical winter in the wairarapa where i live (1hour north wellington) would be lots of cold frosty nights and gorgeous clear sunny days. But the last two winters have just been plain old grey and wet.
Its a great place to bring up kids and the locals (esp the riding community) are really friendly. I would rate Wellingtonians as the friendliest people in the world. If the Queen wants a girlie side of things just let me know. What industry you in?

I went to Ireland in 2002 with no job lined up and two kids.....had a ball, if you have a job offer what have you got to loose. Nothing like living in another country.
If you own a house in Ireland don't sell it, just rent it out, that way if it don't work out for you your only down a few airfares.
Buy a bike here and bring a letter from your insurance company.
We have a better selection of local beer here too.....

    Heya Hats, welcome to KB.
Like the sound of ya XJR, Wellington has it's weather issues but nothing too out of the ordinary really, can get windy. Not too bad of a place to be based for ride outs and you could always shoot across the ditch to the South Island for a day or weekend ride every now and then.

Only thing I have against Wellington is that there is only one road in and out and an earthquake could easily isolate the city. Heck one car accident on the main road isolates it! Of course they have been arguing forever about a second route but until someone with the clout actually makes a decision and forces it to go ahead despite all the crap from everyone with their own views and agenda's that will remain the case.
