    Seriously is this true?

    Found this on another forum.
This is the cut n paste of what he said

    "After reading this Article :http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Web-Ph....html?x=0&.v=1

I downloaded the program app described within. And YES ALL the info is encoded in the digital image. Even the GPS coords of when the pic was taken can be present if the Phones "Location" settings were "ON" !!

Below is a screenshot of just part of the information I was able to obtain from one of Quebeckers Posted photo's !!

just a word of caution in the digital age !!! Granted theres nothing sensitive in this example but there could be data that you dont want everyone to know. In many cases the GPS coords for the location where the pic was taken is included !!"

    I think it's great.

Next lot of toys I buy for my Nikon will involve enabling the gps function.

The Exif data has been on digital pics since the the earliest cameras.

This isn't exactly new, but then again it's not common knowledge.

Take picture - Find satellites - Receive co-ordinates - Save photo.
That's about 10x more work than really needed.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

    so what's the point?
exif data are pretty useful to photographer: ever taken a tour trough flickr, picasa or deviantart?
flickr has a lot of statistics pages to read, and all very interesting, thanks to those very datas...

gps coords are the only a little tricky, actually.i've read of a stupid girl who made an "inconvenient pic" of herself cutting out the head not to be recognizable, but didn't considered the gps within the camera: she ended up with people writing "inconvenient words" right out her home...

    +1

Canon printers give a lot of info out on the printed page , by the use of dots and color

Cars , now there's a great way for the stupids to hurt themselves

if fact u can get at least 8 stupids in one people mover these days
