couldn't face the rain at 4:30 am

my clear visor is rooted after the 4 points and the prospect of 2 hours, visor up, in the rain, all the way to caltex rumutaka just didn't appeal

new visor is ordered, just didn't make it in time

Finally made it back at around 8:45. Took a slight detour thanks to KoroJ's directions. note to oneself for next year. When the directions say turn left onto.... He really means turn right onto... and THEN left onto..... Or better still, invest in a GPS before next year.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Well done to all who finished!

The green Wiarapa roads were fantastic! I really felt like I could have ridden them all day. I was also looking forward to riding the Napier > Wiaroa road in the daylight this time. This was not to be: following Gremlin out of the back roads towards Waipukurau I noticed my clutch was a little sloppy... then a lot sloppy. As I waved bye to him to feed my tank I pretty much knew it was over for me. Stalling at the gas station neutral because I couldn't select neutral pretty much confirmed it. None of the local bike shops could fix it (what is the world coming to?)

I ended up having a nice chilled out ride back from Waipukurau to Levin - only using my clutch when absolutely necessary.

Close inspection of my clutch cable showed it was only held on be about 3 stands. Closer inspection showed just how close it was to snapping. My job today is to dust off the Beemer so I can get to work on Monday.

    Another great day out riding.
    The trip computer stats:
Average overall 79.0km/hr, moving average 94.8km/hr, time stopped 1 hour 50mins, Odo 1038km. My plan was to stop less but I got caught up in the social aspects of such a ride. It was fun and we did a few more kms from Ohingaiti to include some interesting back roads. Bit of a flash from a van just after the interchange on SH2 - so we wait.

I left some sunnies (Ugly Fish) outside at the Parrot and Jigger - if anyone picked them up??
    Here for the ride.

See you all in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing your videos.

    It was my first C1KC.
All in all a great day although I could do without the !X$#@ wind.

Thanks much for organizing this event John.
The final check in at the Parrot and Jigger was impressive (warm welcome, certificates, etc.)
