Wink Around Australia on a R1200GS - 22,000km in three and a bit months

My mate Dick Hubbard (used to be mayor of Auckland) and I have just completed our circumnavigation of Australia on a pair of R1200GS. We left Sydney on 1 May and returned on 9 August so we weren't in any hurry. I am home now, still smiling!

    What a trip..............

Man I bet you loved it. I rode around NZ a cpl years back, that was awesome. Met heaps of awesome people, and saw what I would call the best scenery in the world to date....

I would take on Aussie too in time. Think you need the time you guys set aside. NZ is doable in 3 weeks, but the more time you have the experience you have too.

I will park up and have a read.

    Cheers.

When Dick Hubbard was mayor, he never gave the impression he would consider doing anything remotely risky.
Pity he's not in the running for Auck mayor now, it would be good to have someone on our side that far up the political tree.
(I think banks has a harley but only for pose value)
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Yes fair comment. I have known Dick for a long time - before the silly bugger stood for mayor. (Who would want to do that!) He's a good bloke and a lot of fun. Here's my favourite photo.....

ahh yes - ozzy sand... not really sand - just powered clay. Anyone has tips on how to drive a loaded up bike through this stuff....?

We are looking to do another stint over there - 3 months sounds good. I'm off to have a good read.
