Short n Sweet

Was going to bring along the SVR 6fiddy for a play - but it was running hairy on Friday & canned that idea for Saturday. So it was the red-n-white dinosaur only for the race day.

Decided to save some pennies and run the fairly worn wets that were getting on to a couple of seasons old. Managed to do the job though and with the main competition in the form of Wellingtons Stephen Mossman not making an appearance at this round it was a matter of circulating within the limits of the rubber. (anyone know the update on Stephens whereabouts ?)

All in all a good result & we played with the YSS suspension a bit more to try and find a better wet setting - however still have some work to do on that front. We think its something to do with spring rates fitted - so will be llooking into that if we have another wet one.

Thumbs up to the marshalls & organizers for standing out in the weather for all of us guys n gals.

Was the bike running ok as it sounded like it was missing down the front straight ?

You are correct sir, - the bike didnt like the water at all........

Yeah my front plug lead seems to have been shorting out also. Jarrod told me about siliconing around the plug cap to prevent water building up, but it might just be the lead - you might remember it happened at Wangas in 08.

I thought the SV was misbehaving on Friday, but you really should've left it parked in the stalls for the day so that the stall wasn't burgled out from under you.

You might have to pull a plug-lead next round mate to give yourself a bit more of a challenge. Shame the 650 didn't play the game.
Many thanks for the lunchtime laps. Your fan-base now includes 2 rabid 8 year olds. They even think your bike riding isn't too bad.

Haha - yip those boys morphed pretty quick from trepidation to smiles aye, used more fuel in the commode in 3 laps than i did on the bike all day though.......... :-)

Yes you can silicone them & that pretty much solves the problem, however it does make a right friggen mess of evrything & is a shit to remove later-on. The stock SV has a small rubber flap that hangs down from the rad over the front cyl plug & is quite effective.
Seems to be more of an issue when shorter race front mudguards are fitted as well.

I remember seeing your slabby out there, - man they have a skinny arse on em aye. I owned one of them years ago and really enjoyed the power delivery & revelation of no weight compared to the stuff on the road at the time.
