Did you manage to get any shots of Tim's crash.? I think most of us missed it, just saw him picking the bike up and wondered what the hell had gone wrong with the two of them.

The Gavin and Tim crash? I was facing the other way and turned around when I heard the noise from the bikes scratching along the track. I'll upload what I have shortly.

Now uploaded. I also was not positioned to take photos at that spot so was a bit close for the lens I had on.

The tasting of the tarmac continues... Some more unplanned action now uploaded.

Fortunately everyone seemed to be OK after the tumbles. Notice Pumba's bike, stood on the front wheel, doing a stoppie, to avoid the carnage!

Sheesh, that makes it look like it was a total carnage day. I was flagging before the infield when Dave Manuel went down, and then looking at the photos, thought that didn't quite match my sketchy memory - got told no, that was the 2nd crash for him (just a bit further along).
Good thing was no one seemed to be injured and most bikes seemed to get going again.
Spoke briefly to the nurse at the end of the day and commented it was quiet for her after the other month (I only saw her once out on track, whereas the other month she'd have been best based out there hehehe).

What seemed wierd to me, was missing out on open practice in the morning, I felt I hadn't ridden enough, but that was greedy, as I'd ridden the Tadpole the day before and was sore/tired as hell from that. Hmmm, another 4 weeks till the next meet. Brain must be engaged that day.

89 photos now uploaded. Most of them have at least a little cropping. I'll upload the remainder tonight.

First meeting in the main game after 1 1/2 meetings in B grade - Welcome to the Jungle!

First race I threaded the needle between a pirouetting bike and rider on the floor, then the red flagged race only just managed to throw out the anchors in time to stop pole-axing someone in the middle of the back. The photo with bodies everywhere and me stopped dead - stalled!!

Must get to know everyone, pays to say hi to someone before you run them over, rather than after.

    Loved every minute of it.

Lots to work on - not least my utterly shit starts. Looked like I was towing a caravan off the line!
The road to Hell is paved with.....some wicked left handers and heaps of run-off.

When you get it sorted let me know the secret. I think I'm the caravan.

Example of full sized photo after cropping:

From this you can have huge posters printed or just downsize the image for a computer screen background or for an A4 print.

YouTube video clip of buckets at Mt Wellington 15 Aug 2010. Recorded at 50fps, HD-720p, it plays well in slow motion with Quicktime player
