    Metzeler Z8s

Gotta reboot my Gen2 'Busa in a few weeks , the new Z8's look worth considering ....know much about them ?

Not in my local Bike shop yet as the first shipment is still in transit. Reason I'm considering them is I'm about to embark on a 2000 km's trip, two up with some freight on the back, so we're a tad heavy. Also I have a voucher for a discount off the tyres so...it's them or the Z6. Either that or Dunlops, which I know nothing about ......

I know all about Tyre pressures etc, just wondering how the perfomance/ longevity spreadsheet would compare to the Michelin Pilot Road 2's I had on my last Bike

Each issue of BIKE contains a "Tyre chooser" with brief notes about currently available tyres.

Sadly, the September issue says of the Z8, "Full test soon".

The Dunlop Roadsmart got rave reviews initially. Currently, "Impressively long lasting" "great wet grip."

Pilot Road 2 "Damned good in the wet and very good for high mileage."

And of the Pirelli Angel ST, "Long lasting sports touring tyre with gimmicky tread pattern but pleasing performance."

You should be OK with any of the above, but if you get the Z8s let's know how they perform.

Will do, had the Pilot Road 2's on my last Busa.....awesome tyres but, with the discount offer we have it's gonna cost me around $ 520 for the matching set for the Metzeler Z 8's......on the Bike

Still not a bad deal for the new tech ....seems like I'm the first guy to try them out ?

I'll let you know how they perform, it's a two up trip so 42 at the rear end and the Bikes running around 205 Hp at the crank as it sits so ........it's gonna be a good trip ( and a fun trip ) ..cheers

Yes yes, interesting.. In the general line up what Michelin would they bare comparison to? Thinkin' these might be worth a look at some point.

Sweet mate. I was happy with all the reviews so have a set of Z8's being fit tomorrow. Nice to have more side grip for corners and better durability for the long haul on the centre of the tyre.
