    Warning - noob! (Paws)

Hi all, been reading these forums for a while dreaming of the day I finally got a bike to ride. And that day has arrived I am now the proud owner of a mighty little bandit and am arming myself up with a million newbie questions to ask! So hello and be kind when I ask stupid questions and let the newbie flaming begin!

Welcome. You've made the necessary step to life long happiness.

The Bandit 250 is a great bike. Don't be too keen to get all your skills at once. Don't worry if people "out ride" you. Plan on a lifetime of learning to ride.

Trust your bike and your tyres. Single best piece of advice I can give - look where you want to go (eg. through the corner).

Thanks for saying hi. I bought the bandit from a dealer so I wasn't gambling on second hand stuff from trademe and I look foward to getting out there with ya. Have ridden the bandit three times so far and I'm slowly getting the hang of stopping and starting and changing gear, Suprises me every time how much the little thing revs and my car driver brain telling me to change gear before I even make it half way round the tacho.

Isn't it all so much fun. Discovering just what you can do with your body while your riding....exploring new roads. You are in for so much fun.
Do take care out there, there are so many numbnuts who just don't see bikes. Always be extra sharp...stay alert. Dont 'over cook the corners.....and make sure you wear the biggest grins ever.

Welcome along, if you're lucky you might even find some useful information here

As above, check out the meetings and events forum. There are learner friendly rides on sat mornings, maintenance (and cupcake) nights on wednesdays, and when daylight savings starts they'll turn into wed night rides instead, come along and say hi to the local rabble.

It's looking like there will be quite a few 250's out when summer comes back. so you should have plenty of company.
