Gsxr - Gsxr250 Temp Sensor Issues...

Hey Guys Yay the bike got her 1st warrent in 2 years.... Very happy now only have a few issues to sort out before she 100%...
The Main issue is I aint getting any temp reading and the fan wont cut in?
Ive replaced both sensors with second hand ones off trade me and has made no difference. Seems to have plenty of water up there and she definatly gets hot. Was thinking of pulling the unit to bits to check the thermostat or if its even in there (would the thermostat effect the 2 Sensors). If I bypass the fan sensor the fan works (on all the time) and if I earth out the temp sender the gauge shoots to the top like it should.

Any ideas on how to sort this out Would be Greatly appreciated as iam iffy about riding around with no temp gauge..

    Thanks Guys

You can check the fan switch by using a multimeter or battery and test light and a pot of water. Connect something across the switch that will tell you if it is open or closed, then put the threaded part of it it in the water and bring the water to the boil. The switch should change state somewhere near boiling.

oops just read in more detail - if the temp sender AND the fan switch are both thinking the temp is low, it's unlikely that they are both faulty. Maybe test them as above, if they both seem fine maybe hot coolant is not reaching them?

Ok Have now sorted out the temp sender just needed to eath the thermostat housing and she is now working perfectly. Have now also realised the water system isnt preasurising have found the fault and am ordering a replacement part ( Bad seal where radiator cap goes). So was boiling way early... So in a few days time hopefully all is well...
    Thanks guys
