50,000 Aussies meet in Lang Park for a "Aussies Are Not Stupid" Convention.
Prime Minister John Howard says, "We are all here today to prove to the world thet Aussies are not stupid. Ken I hev a volunteer."
Ricky Ponting gingerly works his way through the crowd and steps up to the stage.
John asks him, "What uz fefteen plus fefteen?"
After fefteen or 20 seconds Ricky says, "Eighteen!"
Obviously everyone is a little disappointed. Then all 50,000 Aussies start chanting, "GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE! GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE!"
John says, "Well sence we've gone to the trouble of gitting 50,000 of you en one place end we have the world wide priess end global broadcast media here, I thenk we ken gev hem another chance." So he asks, "What ez sevvin plus sevvin?" After nearly 30 seconds he eventually says, "Ninety!" John is quite perplexed, looks down and just lets out a dejected sigh - everyone is disheartened.
John starts crying and the 50,000 Aussies begin to yell and wave their hands shouting, "GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE! GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE!"
John, unsure whether or not he is doing more harm than good, eventually says, "Ok! Ok! Just one more chance...What ez two plus two?"
Ricky closes his eyes, and after a whole minute eventually says, "Four!"
Throughout the stadium pandemonium breaks out as all 50,000 Aussies jump to their feet, wave their arms, stamp their feet and scream...
"GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE! GEV HEM ANOTHER CHANCE!"
