    Aeorostitch Roadcrafter - any good?

I've seen a couple of people on these forums mention this "Aerostitch Roadcrafter", and I looked at the link and thought it looked pretty useful! Has anyone got any experience with these? Specifically are they as good as they look? Can you buy them here in NZ? or is it only available online?

    Good but certainly not perfect

I'm now coming to the end of life of my second one-piece Roadcrafter, after it has done daily year-round usage in Europe for about 80,000 miles in the last 2 years. All the velcro was worn out after 6 months, all the handles came off the zippers (after 6 months, replaced with paperclips) and now, despite the recommended re-weatherproofing with Scotchguard, leaks like a sieve after 10 minutes in the rain. Still the best commuter suit ever made, but in serious need of an upgrade with fit for purpose velcro, zipper handles and modern waterproof zips.

doesnt sound like 1500 bucks worth

And yet some people such as Lee Parks swear by them.

I think if I was in the market to replace my gear and I did a lot of touring then I'd look pretty seriously at it. But yes, I would have to agree that for $1,500 it better be the best goddamned suit you've ever seen.

Only available new via the Aerostich website. Once I wear out my BMW Tourance I'll give the Roadcrafter a go.
