    Dodging the costs!

    Get ready to laugh, as this sounds a bit out there.
    I have (amongst other bikes) a couple of RG50's. Both are registered as mopeds (hence cost $70 a year to register and no wof checks). They are both modified and able to do over 100kmph on the flat, only wiegh 70kgs (liquid cooled, disc brakes) and they are great fun once your ego deflates enough and you start getting your knee down. (and boy the mindblowing mind bend of getting on my 750 after a few days on the 50's is better than anything!)

    My amazing (some may read stupid) idea is to shoehorn an rg150 motor in the older one, and keep it on the moped reg. File off the "1" in the "149cc" tag on the side of the motor. Think about it, 28hp, 70kgs. Thats pretty good power to weight.

    My question is what do you think my chances are of getting caught? (aside from when the frame gives way, the swingarm twists and im found carrying it home,literally, I can carry it around)

    No problem - until,as I mentioned in the worst ticket thread...you meet a cop who knows his bikes....the lies lead to bigger lies.If you can think on your feet go for it.

    i've just found a place that i can get RS50 stickers for mine - do you think that'll work? this doesn't look too different to the RS250 does it?

    yeah, but how will you explain why your rs50 can suddenly do 240k?

    I think you can't exceed 2 hp or kw (not sure which) to qualify for the Class N licence for your vehicles. Once the check is done then you can go ahead and do the mods with not much chances of getting caught afterwards.

    I had big plans for my scooter as well. I could see my self doing ok in buckets. Ah well... it probably wasn't ment to be. All I have now is the performance pipe for it that came into NZ 2 days after the scooter was stolen. I was planing to put a RM 80 or 125 motor/transmition in it.

    Anyone know the HP rating of an RG150? I am guessing something around 30hp......

    Yeah its 2kW which is 2.68hp. Theres obviously a big difference between 2.68hp and 28 hp.

    Sounds right to me Andrew,btw if the Coefficient of Linear expansion for steel = 0.000 012, and a steel beam which is 15 meters long is heated in a fire from 10c to 600c (see cyclespot pics), what is the final length of the beam ?? ?

    Okay Physics boy, here is my answer.

    lo=15m
    alpha=12*10^6
    change in temp (delta t) = 600-10 = 590 degrees C.

    The equation: lt = l0(1 + alpha.t)

    **substitute into the equation**

    lt = 15(1+(12*10^-6*590))

    lt = 15,106mm
    or
    lt = 15.106 M

    So did I get the right answer physics boy? Perhaps you can tell me about Coefficient of friction. CK gave me a very good explanation of coefficient of friction.

    Yeah not bad, you are of course correct, what is it that you wish to know about coe of Friction ? and do you know what the coefficient of linear exp for concrete is ?

    It is a nice looking performance muffler for a small cc 2 stroke machine. I think I might stick it in my TS185 and see how it goes. Thank you for your interest.
