    New cop trick, I think

You may all already have seen this but.....

Heading along a motorway, I happened to look right and up and saw a cop car parked on a particularly steep on ramp facing the other way. There's no way you'd see him when passing this on-ramp on that side.

I rode on wondering why he was parked there. It was 2 in the afternoon. Traffic light. The usual carnage wasn't due to begin for at least three more hours. Then the penny dropped.

The wee dear had his 'away' radar on, didn't he?

As stated, you all probably know about this trick. But if'n ya didn't, then beware when roaring past on-ramps till you can see they are clear of clutter, so to speak.
    Only 'Now' exists in reality.

    Sneaky mothers..............

Yeah, now they have "Quota's" they will hide in any little nook or cranny they can. They will partially obscure their vehicles any way they can, just so they can nab you at speeding excessively, (all be it 5km over the limit) and think they are doing their boss a good service to get the best hit/ score, as well as cudos for a promotion.
They aren't real police, they are barrel scum not interested in education or building safer communities........ If they were they would focus on solving crime like our buddy on here who got burgled, violent crime, rapes, and murders. It seems that roading makes money, big money, where as real police work is very expensive. It takes 100 police to solve a simple crime, yet if you give them all the info and evidence it would still take as long or longer cause they are super intelligent...... lol.

I love police....... just not all the traffic cops that all seem to be dicks. (there are some genuinely nice ones, they are just rare...)

    speed traps

this is a very common tactic used by cops in uk for years. they even used to use fake patrol cars parked up in laybys etc as a deterrent...basically a cut out of a patrol car!

How the fuck would you know? have you met every cop in NZ, do you know exactly what each one of them does?

    Fair enough but:

Isn't that really just the case with all aspects of life?.....there will always be a % of people or things that don't fit your own Utopian model.

In fact god help us if that was to change, viva la difference, I say!

Yep, the Ramarama overbridge was always a favourite I recall. One to always watch for on the way to Auckland.

Still a favourite for them... makes me wonder how long it takes for people to learn. Often see people who have been pulled over on that straight Its been going on for years!

Hampton Downs interchange and surrounding motorway (to drag strip especially) is also a bit popular... wonder why

The more things change, the more they stay the same.....

I always have this thought in the back of my mind, when riding at any pace....'If I was a traffic cop looking to fill my (alledgedly non existent ) quota, where would I hide?'

I always wondered are motorcyclists harder to lock on due to their smaller size vs. cars?
