Those radar speed signs put in on some roads can be way off the mark. I think it has something to do with the angles, probably why many tickets are written out with 10-20kph less than could have been (speedo error )
Perhaps some faring and helmet shapes should take cues from stealth aircraft.

And OUT of Auck too as there is access in both directions.

But in fairness, the cop who used to patrol that stretch (don't think he is still doing it now) was a biker and he has probably let more bikes off tickets than he has actually ticketed.

BTW, spotted a new hidey hole last Sunday morning on my way up to Mangawai.
Was cruising along the motorway in the car (had dog with me) and had just gone past the big BP on the left before Silverdale. For some reason I looked in my rear vision (dunno why) and clearly saw the patrol car sitting back up the on ramp...he had a clear view of all the traffic going past but was completely hidden from the road.

I have never seen one there before... luckily I drive like a nana when the dog is on board, well actually I drive to the speed limit pretty much 99% of the time...its the bike that makes me misbehave! I try to be good...really I do! But I'm not perfect LOL

Yeah, I've seen that little trick too. They have two cars parked on that bridge. The boys scoping each way with lasers. Sneaky devils. :--))

This is an argument I had in court a year or so ago. If a biker is ahead of another vehicle, especially a large truck, there is no way the Stalker can differentiate between the two vehicles.

I went along armed with all the Stalker tech manual stuff, plus all the relevent math. Got the cop to admit there was a truck behind me. Finally the JP said, 'I'm sorry, the math is way above my head. Guilty as charged.'

No wonder Scot Watson is in jail!

BTW. Never heard another word. No notice of fine or demerit points. Maybe the court staff took pity on me.
