Have Spies and Rossi been made to swap bikes?

Has Ben Spies been given a factory bike already now that his move to the Factory team has been finallised?
Has Rossi been given a satellite bike so that he does not get wind of 2011 developments?

    Curiouser and curiouser.

It has been discussed here, in another post. And it certainly seems an interesting a valid theory. It would give Spies and his crew a good heads up on the bike for next year.

Alright, i'll put my possibly naive 2 cents worth into the mix. I seriously doubt Yamaha would do that to Rossi and have stated that they'll give their full support to Rossi until the end of the season. I guess i'm not the suspicious type in general. I happen to think that Rossi is still struggling with things since his injury and I also think that Spies did it (pole position in Indianapolis) on his own merit on his own bike.

I reckon Spies has definitely had some go fast parts thrown his way, possibly not Rossi's

Also Rossi is still recovering from his injury, while it has been a while, going back early wouldn't have done him any good to his recovery (as with De Puniet by the looks of qualifying)

On another forum, Some lucky bastard who was there watching the practice & Qual said that Elbowz bike had a different exhaust note/Pitch to that of Lorenzo's & Rossi's bike, so we really Don't know but anyway...Go Spies

I dont think rossi's bike has been compromised for bens benefit.

Ben was dazzeling before rossi had his big crash, I think he's just running on a good wave.

Yeah but that could well be just the difference in mapping. As in leaner or richer than their bikes. There ain't no way the engine is different.

i dont think they've swapped bikes.

Remember at laguna, Tech three got some upgrades that seem to have helped spies out alot in the last two races, but also time in the saddle.

Remember Rossi's been laid up so lorenzo's been leading devlopment, but i wouldn't have been too surprised if spies has had some input into the bikes features and devleopments (he mentioned it after Le man , about a clutchless downshift feature he wanted fitted from his SBK but was yet to be developed for the gp bike) and now those bits he wanted have probably arrived.

I think Spies has had a bit of an upgrade but Yamaha would be incredibly stupid to give Rossi a hard time. The guy has such a huge following and it would make Yamaha look bad if they screwed him.

A sattelite team would be an excellent place to test some new stuff for next year . . . . . . . .
