    Hyo GT250 exhaust fix?

I have an 06 GTR and am always looking for ways to improve / mod my bike.

After a bit of polish and paint one weekend I noticed the following. I had sprayed the Exhaust pipe as far as what is seen anyway, and after a few rides noticed a 'Hot' spot where the paint had burned off. Right where the collector box joins onto the Tail Pipe. On further investigation with a Hacksaw and various other tools, I saw that the Skinny inner pipe that is inside the big fat tail pipe, had broken on the weld where it goes into the collector box. Thus causing the to sections of pipe to no longer line up (probably due to how it has been bent into shape during manufacturing) causing the tail section to act as a giant baffle.

So several hours of effort later, the mangled bits of inner pipe removed, the big fat tail pipe welded onto replacement collector box / front header piece and all bolted back on...

OMFG... With my Cycleworks Muffler and the fat exhaust, it sounds incredible. And the, for lack of better words, Power increase is very noticeable. For example, a slight left, uphill corner coming out of an 80 zone to open road just by my place used to be a struggle to hit 100 in 4th, now it pulls to red line and keeps going in 5th.

Will be at Manfield this weekend doing some carb tuning with the lads.

Check your exhaust for hot spots, it may indicate a restriction in gas flow therefore stealing performance from you...

    Knees in the Breeze,
    Jas

Good read, Have you raced the hyosung before?, ive always wanted to get 'custom chambers' to make me a full system that links up to my screaming demon exhaust, but its against the rules in prolites, if you were a roadrider i could image it would make a huge difference.
