1 Happy Junior Racer.

A couple of months ago my partner and l sold our Suzuki RG 150 to a Father of a young Junior Racer down Sth on Trade Me.
The Father brought the bike of us for his son without his son knowing about it until it arrived in Christchurch where Father and Son went to pick it up from the Transport Company who took it down Sth for them. The look on the sons face when he saw it was Fantastic.
Ever since this young lad has had the bike he has been keeping in contact with us via email and sending photos of him and the bike at his 1st outing on it.
It makes us feel good knowing what this Father did for his son and also knowing how much this young fella is enjoying the bike.
This is what Racing is all about having Supportive and understanding Parents getting the younger generation into this Sport so it keeps it Alive and going.
I never get sick of hearing stories like this 1 from others who have done the same thing for either their Son or Daughter.
We are hoping that 1 day he will come up to the Nth Island with his bike and Race it on some of the tracks here.
We wish him well with his Racing for the Future.

With out the young recruits coming through and as importantly the support from the parents and others, bike racing wouldn't stand a chance.

My boy is only 5 but as soon as the wobble wheels come of the pushi father Christmas might just find a little powered two wheeler in his sack and so starts the next generation.

Just had an email form Conor who owns the 150 his Dad brought for him of me telling me that the bike fell over in the garage during the Earthquake and now has a descent dent in the tank.

I was wondering how the Motorcycle dealerships faired, my 675 came from ChCh and the shop was in Manchester street which seemed to feature on the news !

I have been training Conor, and i can certainly tell you he is doing SO SUPER well, we were out at Ruapuna the other day and he has got his lines down and his braking so good, he is doing SO WELL! Im not just saying that as his mate, he really is doing so well!
haha when he got his bike he text me over and over again about how excited he was, and the bike is running so sweet.
I live just down the road from Conor, and he is planning on painting the bike up soon and should have it all done up for KOL 3 on 9th October .

...we have great training opportunities for our younger riders down here thanks to the clubs working together well and people like Pete Jones and a heap of voluntary helpers and parents who put so much time in...the ClassicActionChik is one who has come through that training and for one pretty young herself ,a testament to how much they learn...shown by her keeness to get younger riders onto the track and training them...good on yer Scout..you are what its all about....and you are getting pretty quick yourself..cool...

We are hoping to meet up with Conor and his Dad John this Saturday as we will be in Christchurch and always said to them if we were ever down their way we would call in and say Hi to them. Its great to hear about the amount of support there is down Sth regarding the Streetstock Riders. To keep this Sport Alive you have to get the young 1's into it as they are our future riders and keep them in it. Great class for any young rider to start in as they can only move onto better and bigger things once they have the experience and support under their belts.
