they are very similar to the yamaha yes but there are some things that are different but yes very similar looking bikes i would assume the lifan is based off the yamaha ....they are made in china and are the biggest exporter from china...in all honesty they are very well built ..im weighing up maybe buying a delta myself

The 250 v-twin only got a very average write up in kiwi rider mag (that's putting it nicely) If lifan can sort the quality probs it may be a good learner bike...

Spoken like some one who sells them...?
KR test speaks of "sloppy gear box", "brake light switch fell apart", "various plastic and rubber parts started to work loose" "What is not debateable is that build quality issues must be addressed first" Based on those quotes from the KR test I for one would not buy one..... Maybe it's just me?

The Z50 copy does look cool tho... I have the fore runner to the Honda Z50 in my attic. It's a 1968 QA50.....

they are very affordable bike though....so you can't expect them to be perfect consider the cost of a brand new lifan to the cost of a brand new japanese brand motorbike the difference is huge

I know what you mean.... I had to assemble a FJR1300 they come without the front wheel attached also and are a prick to get out of the crate.
