    Northerly 45 knots easing to northwest 25 knots this evening.Changing southerly 50 knots Friday evening, then easing to 35 knots by Friday night. High sea easing for a time. Southerly swell rising to 1 metre. Poor visibility in rain until late this evening,and again in squally possibly thundery showers from Friday evening.

    Outlook:
    Outlook following 3 days: Southerly dying out Saturday morning and becoming northerly 25 knots by evening then rising Sunday northwest 45 knots with high sea, slowly easing Monday.

    Think we might chicken out and bring the car tonight. Absolutely hosing down here and blowing like a mongrel. I hope the mainlanders brought plenty of warm dry clothes.

    A good evening had by all. Was great to catch up with the mainlanders and ironic that Beachcombers has an effergy of Shrek behind the bar. Hope you guys all enjoy your weekend and dont have too much to worry about after the South Island shake

    twasnt me - bike was in the garage - Ive been painting all day. The boys got away bout 8:30, headin for the Paraparas. They were wakened by phonecalls from home just after quake so it will be a long day for them
